About Us

You all know the rules now: we are millennials, and therefore the law dictates that we have to set up some sort of website, podcast, or food-based Instagram. It’s like how people over the age of 75 suddenly must start carrying around hard candy at all times. It’s the law, you don't question it. Therefore in 2019, after some careful pondering during a few pints at our local, we thought we might as well share with the world our passion for the unique, incomparable phenomenon that is the UK festival scene. Festival season is something we eagerly look forward to every year and now that we have a fair few diverse experiences under our belt, it’s time to share all things festival-related to a wider audience. We welcome everyone, from the most seasoned festival goers to those only just embarking on their festival journey to join us on this adventure.

Phyllis Chen

Editor in Chief and Head of Marketing

Hello! I’m Phyllis, a recent transplant to London from the United States (the great state of Minnesota to be more exact. Go Midwest!). I have a Siamese cat named Tiger who I love more than anything and is basically me if I was a cat, you know, clingy and tempermental. I also love reading, listening to podcasts, especially true crime, and spend way too much time playing stupid cooking games on my phone.

I first came to London as a study abroad exchange student three years ago, and it was then that I experienced my first UK multi-day camping festival. Not only that, it was my first time sleeping in a tent in the outdoors! I’ve been back in London for the past year and a half and have really been enjoying my time here (you know except for the prices, weather, crowds and constant transportation delays).

Talk to me anytime about British culture shock, Minnesota, cats and what you're reading or listening to! I'm always looking for recommendations whether that be places to eat or holy grail skincare products.

Antoine Salzmann

Website Design and Writer

Hey there! I’m Antoine.

I was born in France but spent my life growing up in Prague, Shanghai and I’m now in London where I’m doing a PhD in Ageing and Lifelong Health. I could talk about the subject for hours but I was told this section should be catchy so I’ll just move on, but please do contact me to talk about it though!

If you ever see me in the wild, head over and say ‘canard’ which is ‘duck’ in French. I’ll buy you a pint of your choice and we can discuss one of my varied topics of interest. These include, but are not limited to: boats, ice hockey, ageing, festivals, skiing and how bad the weather is today (or how it’s way too hot, whichever is more appropriate at that point in time).

My lifelong dreams you ask? If everything goes well and I one day complete my PhD, I want to buy a cheap sailboat with Phyllis (see above) and sail the world for a while, eating fresh fish and drinking cocktails whilst following the sun. Keep your eyes peeled for a new website outlining our new adventures!
